July 13th, 2026 Mayor’s Message – July 2026
July has given our community plenty of reasons to celebrate, especially as America turns 250-year-old! This milestone reminds us that the strength of our country has always been found close to home in good neighbors, shared traditions, and a willingness to show up for one another. And this month, our community definitely showed up!
The Western Stampede was a standout event! Whether you were cheering in the stands, watching the parade, or just enjoying the sights and sounds of the carnival, the event was a great reminder that fun doesn’t need to be reinvented when you already have a community that knows how to gather!
We extend a sincere thank you for how everyone approached the city’s fireworks decision. This cooperation did more than just prevent accidents; it gave our firefighters a much‑needed breather during one of the driest stretches of the year. They’ve said repeatedly how grateful they are for the community’s caution, and we are too. We kept things safe without letting the holiday lose its flare and that’s something worth celebrating.
As summer rolls on, let’s hold onto this spirit of connection, kindness, and looking out for one another. Here’s to more fun evenings, more friendly conversations, and more chances to continue building a community that’s truly second to none, as we celebrate 250 years!
