As part of the UT Together: Reading 1776 effort, Utah Valley University has provided a reading guide and discussion questions for the Declaration of Independence and McCullough's 1776. These materials are intended for use in classrooms, book clubs, or public reading activities and can be adapted by parents for home use.
The guide includes discussion questions regarding the Declaration of Independence as well as general discussion questions for 1776. Additionally, a chapter-by-chapter guide is available containing discussion prompts, key passages, and micro quotes.
While the book 1776 does not focus specifically on the Declaration of Independence, the battles of 1776 featured in the book brought Americans together and solidified their determination to be a self-governed and free people.
