The University of Houston football team moved up in the AP and USA Today Coaches Poll following a victory over Oklahoma State. The Cougars moved up to No. 14 in the AP Poll and No. 16 in the Coaches Poll.
The No. 14 ranking in the AP Poll is the highest the program has achieved in the AP Poll since 2016, when the team reached as high as No. 6.
Houston will play in consecutive ranked matchups against teams ranked in the AP Top 25. The team is scheduled to face No. 10 Utah, marking the first time since 1977 that both teams in a matchup were ranked in the AP Top 25. This is only the third time in the history of the school.
