Canyon View High School and Iron County Schools are coordinating several upcoming community initiatives, ranging from leadership development at Southwest Technical College to district-wide school boundary reviews following the planned opening of East Elementary.
The Iron County Board of Education is currently considering boundary changes throughout the district in preparation for the new East Elementary building opening this fall, according to a November 2025 board brief.
Following open houses held at Cedar Middle and Canyon View Middle schools, the district noted that opportunities for public input remained available through January 2026 via online forms and scheduled Board of Education meetings on Jan. 27 and Feb. 24. A specific public hearing regarding the proposal was scheduled for Feb. 17 at the board room on West Royal Hunte Drive.
Student engagement programs are also expanding at Canyon View High School. A leadership conference for high school students is scheduled for April 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Southwest Technical College, designed to help students grow skills to impact their schools and communities.
Additionally, beading classes taught by Jeremy Garcia are available for middle and high school students, with an upcoming session scheduled for March 3 in Mrs. Manesse's room.
School officials also issued reminders regarding campus involvement and school activities. Iron County Schools reminded volunteers that all individuals chaperoning field trips or attending classroom parties must complete a background check and volunteer training, noting that results can take up to one week.
Other scheduled school events include the CVHS spring choir concert on May 11 and recent discussions on the Nurturing the Nest Podcast regarding Merit Diplomas and March Madness.
The school year also featured seasonal performances, including the CVHS Christmas concert held in December 2025.
