A livestock-hauling truck crashed on the ramp linking southbound Interstate 15 to Interstate 84 in Riverdale on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026. The vehicle tipped toward the passenger side and came to rest on a road-barrier wall.
According to Lt. Zach Randall of the Utah Highway Patrol, the truck was loaded at the time of the accident, which occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Randall stated that approximately 15 cattle died as a result of the incident.
As of 6:12 p.m. Tuesday, the roadway remained closed while cleanup efforts were ongoing. Randall noted that the surviving cattle were being offloaded and cared for, and he reported no known human injuries.
