SALT LAKE CITY (Oct. 23, 2026) — The Utah Department of Transportation is warning drivers to plan ahead for several ramp closures on I-15 in Riverdale and at the I-80/I-215 interchange in Salt Lake County over the coming days.

On Friday, Oct. 23 at 10 p.m., the ramp from southbound I-15 to eastbound I-84 (Exit 340) in Riverdale will close until Monday, Oct. 26, at 6 a.m. Crews will slide half of a new bridge into place.

The same ramp will close again Friday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m. to Monday, Nov. 2, at 6 a.m. while crews slide the other half of the new bridge into place.

This project, which is replacing three aging Riverdale bridges, will wrap up this fall.

I-80/I-215 interchange closures

Drivers traveling through the I-80/I-215 interchange in Salt Lake County should plan for overnight ramp closures Monday and Tuesday nights, Oct. 26 and 27, as crews continue work on the I-215 West reconstruction project.

Monday, Oct. 26, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday: All four ramps connecting eastbound and westbound I-80 to northbound and southbound I-215 will close. The ramp from Redwood Road to southbound I-215 will also close.

Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday: The ramps from northbound I-215 to eastbound and westbound I-80, southbound I-215 to westbound I-80, northbound I-215 to Redwood Road and eastbound I-80 to Redwood Road will close.

Drivers traveling to Salt Lake International Airport Tuesday night should avoid I-215 and use I-80 or Bangerter Highway instead. The ramps from both northbound and southbound I-215 to westbound I-80 will be closed from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Additional SR-201 restrictions

Other construction activities will affect SR-201 and I-215 this weekend:

Westbound SR-201 to westbound I-80: The ramp will close Saturday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. through Monday, Oct. 26 at 5 a.m. for bridge repairs. Drivers can use SR-202 to access westbound I-80.

Westbound SR-201: Concrete pavement replacements will reduce westbound SR-201 to one lane between the Spaghetti Bowl and the Jordan River from 11 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday. The ramps from southbound I-15 and 2100 South to westbound SR-201 will also close.

Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change. For the latest updates, visit the UDOT Traffic website or download the UDOT Traffic app for iPhone or Android. You can also follow UDOT on X, Facebook and Instagram for real-time updates.
