The Utah Office of State Treasurer is hosting the 2026 Unclaimed Property Webathon, a statewide online treasure hunt. The event aims to help Utahns locate and reclaim lost money and property.
Event Schedule and Live Feed
The webathon video feed is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Social Media Content and Goals
Throughout the day, social media channels will share interviews, success stories, educational content, and live updates. The event encourages participants to search for unclaimed property belonging to themselves, family members, friends, businesses, charities, and deceased relatives.
Types of Unclaimed Property
Unclaimed property may include items such as uncashed checks, forgotten bank accounts, utility deposits, refunds, insurance proceeds, and safe deposit box contents. Every year, businesses report millions of dollars in unclaimed property to the state after losing contact with owners.
How to Participate and Win
Participants can take part by visiting mycash.utah.gov to search their names or for others including businesses and charities. To participate in a social media contest, individuals can tag three friends in the comments of any webathon post for a chance to win one of 15 Amazon gift cards.
Past Webathon Success and Results
A previous six-hour webathon successfully helped return more than $1.9 million in unclaimed property, which included 9,695 properties claimed and 18,681 website visitors.
