Six people were killed on Florida’s Turnpike on Friday when an SUV traveling with its headlights off rammed into a truck providing roadside assistance, according to a October 24 report from United Press International.

The Florida Highway Patrol stated that a Chevy Traverse was traveling northbound when it collided with a state Road Ranger truck that was assisting another crash.
Witnesses reported that the Chevy Traverse was speeding and had no headlights on at the time of the impact. The SUV struck the right rear of the Road Ranger truck, causing both vehicles to become engulfed in flames.
The six individuals inside the SUV were trapped within the vehicle and died at the scene. Those individuals have not been publicly identified.
The driver of the Road Ranger truck, a 28-year-old man, sustained minor injuries during the crash but did not require medical assistance.
