A man accused of repeatedly appearing naked and disturbing residents at Rexburg apartment complexes was arrested early Saturday morning after officers chased him and eventually surrounded him in a backyard, according to a police Facebook post published August 30.
Officers had received numerous reports over the preceding week regarding a naked man near apartment complexes around South 1st West and South 2nd West. The investigation intensified around 4 a.m. Saturday when the suspect was spotted near South 1st West and fled from officers.
Police conducting surveillance in the area began tracking the man's movements. With assistance from Madison County Sheriff’s Office deputies, BYU-Idaho Campus Security, and members of the public, officers located the suspect and pursued him until he was surrounded in the backyard of a home on 4th West.
The suspect was booked into the Madison County Jail on charges of stalking, indecent exposure, resisting and obstructing officers, and malicious injury to property. The man's name was not released in the social media post.
