Cedar City released an amended notice on August 31 for an upcoming City Council work meeting scheduled for September 2, 2026. The meeting is set to take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at the City Office at 10 North Main Street.
The agenda for the work meeting includes a Constitution Week Proclamation by Mayor Nelson and the consideration of bylaws for a new committee. Additionally, officials will discuss a UDOT agreement regarding the Fiddlers Canyon Trail Extension.
Several equipment purchases are slated for consideration during the session. These include a Police K9 vehicle for $52,090, a service body for a 2027 Chevy for $54,266.88, a masticator for $84,850.04, and a budgeted broom sweeper for $372,005. The meeting will also include a closed session regarding imminent litigation.
The Council Chambers may serve as an anchor location for participation by electronic means. For assistance regarding disability accommodations, the city requests notification no later than the day before the meeting.
