Saint Francis of Assisi Parish will host Franciscan Father Herald Joseph Brock on Oct. 31 for a day of prayer, reflection, and spiritual enrichment. The event is part of the Jubilee Year dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi and will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem.
The celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free to the public, with lunch provided. The event will feature presentations regarding the life and spirituality of St. Francis, Eucharistic adoration, the Sacrament of Confession, Mass, and opportunities to obtain a plenary indulgence.
Organized by Pastor Father Omar Ontiveros, the gathering aims to provide a way for the community to experience spiritual graces associated with the Jubilee Year. Fr. Ontiveros noted the opportunity to connect with members from other parishes to experience the peace evoked by St. Francis.
The celebration will be bilingual, utilizing two language groups to manage activities. While one group participates in presentations, the other will participate in Eucharistic adoration and confession in the church. The groups will then swap to ensure all attendees can participate in every activity in their own language, concluding with a bilingual Mass.
