Weber School District is highlighting several Career and Technical Education (CTE) initiatives that demonstrate students building practical skills and serving the local community. Recent activities include 3D design competitions, community construction projects, and specialized training programs.
In a recent district-wide 3D Design Competition, ten finalists competed at the Wigglitz Headquarters on May 13th. The event celebrated winners and finalists in the design field.
At Roy High School, construction classes recently completed the building of seven Little Libraries. These structures were delivered to local elementary and junior high schools connected to the Roy High community as part of a student project.
Additionally, Weber School District students were featured by KSL TV for the Gearing Up for Good initiative. Through this program, high school students learn the skills necessary for bicycle repair.
The district's CTE programs also focus on durable skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and resilience to prepare students for life beyond the classroom. These programs include various Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTS
Os) covering fields from healthcare to technology and agriculture.
Other district highlights include an annual CTE Expo where families explore hands-on activities like robotics and welding. Furthermore, 224 junior high students recently participated in Finance Day on the USU campus to explore the future of finance.
The Weber School District continues to provide diverse learning opportunities through its CTE pathways, including summer camps and specialized student organizations.
