Utah municipalities are advancing several transportation and infrastructure initiatives, including the expansion of regional trails in The Point, new traffic control installations in Logan, and recent road closures in South Ogden.
The Point development plans
The Land Authority released phase one development plans for The Point, a 100-acre portion of the larger site intended to foster a mixed-use community. According to the development plan, major infrastructure projects will extend Porter Rockwell Boulevard and planned transit services through the area. The plans also include the construction of most of the 'River-to-Range' regional trail, a 1.4-mile paved path designed to connect the Jordan River Parkway Trail to the foothills of Draper’s Corner Canyon.
Logan traffic control updates
In Logan, the city recently implemented changes to the Center Street Bollard Project. As reported by the City of Logan on June 3, construction for removable traffic control bollards began on May 26 between Main and 100 West. A previous update from May 27 indicated that the construction timeline was shortened to approximately three days following contractor recommendations intended to minimize the impact on local businesses.
South Ogden road and law updates
Other local transportation updates include a Chimes View Drive closure reported by the City of South Ogden in April 2026. Additionally, the city announced new e-bike laws earlier this year.
