Draper 3 is implementing changes to afternoon pick-up procedures to ease congestion caused by ongoing construction. According to a notice from the school, the new fine arts wing is nearing completion, but current construction continues to make afternoon pick-up slow and challenging.
The school announced specific arrival times for different dismissal groups. For Purple Dismissal, which applies only to Draper 3, cars may enter the property at 2:45 pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, or at 1:45 pm on Wednesday and Thursday. This allows families to arrive five minutes early.
Yellow Dismissal, which serves both Draper 2 and Draper 3 families, has a new dismissal time that is five minutes later. Cars may enter the property at 3:20 pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, or at 2:20 pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Vehicles will not be allowed on the property until this designated time.
The school issued several reminders regarding pick-up protocols. Carpool tags must be displayed at all times. If a parent does not have a tag, they may drop off a student but must return after 9:00 am to obtain one. In the afternoon, those without a tag will not be allowed on the property until 3:50 pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, or 2:50 pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
Drivers with a Draper 3 student are required to stay in the right-hand lane next to the fence and must wait for staff direction to approach the curb. After picking up a Draper 3 student, drivers may exit or move to the A/B or C/D lane to pick up Draper 2 students.
