Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest : Recreation Site - Blackhawk Campground
This campground is closed due to fire damage. This timbered-setting campground sits just off the Nebo Loop, a National Scenic Byway. Visitors enjoy the campground for its beautiful panoramic views and great trail opportunities. The dominant vegetation consists of fir, pine, aspen, and Gambel oak trees, which provide partial shade and nice fall color. Broad grassy meadows cover the areas around the trees. Summer wildflowers and wildlife are abundant. 5 miles away is Payson Lake, a fifteen-acre day-use lake stocked with rainbow and brown trout fishing, canoeing, swimming and picnicking. The campground has a horse loop with horse facilities. There are hiking trails nearby. Bird watching, fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, wildlife viewing are some of the popular activities for this area. The Mount Nebo Wilderness Area is adjacent, brimming with beautiful mountain scenery, pristine waters, abundant wildlife, vibrant summer wildflowers and numerous trail opportunities. Other amenities include barbeque grills, firewood, and picnic tables.

Flash Flood Warning Issued for Southeastern Washington County
The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City issued a Flash Flood Warning for southeastern Washington County. Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain in the area, with rainfall totals between 1 and 1.5 inches.

Pirate baseball splits a pair of games over the weekend
The Green River Pirate baseball squad was looking for its first win on Friday when it traveled to take on Piute, and then would return home on Saturday for a game with the Tabiona Tigers. After taking a lead in the top of the first, Piute turned it on after that, closing out the Pirates 14-2 in six innings.

Price City Mayor Summer is winding down and we are seeing a little bit of rain to help our parched city. The lack of moisture left us making some tough decisions for fireworks in our city limits over the 4th and the 24th holidays. With everyone’s help the city came through that with only a couple of small incidents.
