Ten student-athletes from Crimson Cliffs High School recently took part in a signing ceremony in Washington, Utah, to announce their commitments to collegiate programs. The ceremony, which took place on April 29, 2026, showcased the school's expanding success in athletics and academics.
School administration celebrates athletic success
Vice Principal Kent Fairbourn expressed pride in the coaching staffs and student-athletes, noting that the recent wave of signings is a sign of the success occurring within the programs. Fairbourn also credited athletic director Gabi Hasenbeck with helping to build these programs.
Crimson Cliffs individual athlete commitments
Among the Crimson Cliffs seniors highlighted were Cutter Christensen, Austin Smith, and Madden "Dougie" Smith, all of whom will play for Yakima Valley College in Washington. Additionally, Madden Smith is set to compete for Salt Lake Community College following a mission for The Church of Jesus to Latter-day Saints.

Other Crimson Cliffs commitments included Kayden Wilson, who signed to play football for the St. George Eagles, and McKay Lindquist, the school's all-time leading scorer in basketball, who is heading to Southwestern Oregon Community College. Audry Stratton will compete in volleyball at the College of Southern Idaho, while Moxie Smith joined Snow College for soccer.
Track, music, and performing arts
In track and field, Eli Connelly signed with the University of Cincinnati. The school also recognized student performers Siena Romney and Rhett Powell, who will study music at Southern Utah University, and Brighton Woodard, who is headed to the Berklee College of Music.
Regional high school signing activity
The recent signing period has seen significant activity across other Southern Utah high schools. Desert Hills High School hosted an event on April 27, 2026, where 11 athletes formalized commitments to various universities, including several players heading to Yakima Valley College and the Air Force Academy.
Hurricane and Cedar High signings
In Hurricane, multiple athletes signed with programs such as Snow College, Treasure Valley Community College, and Southern Utah University. Cedar High School also saw several students commit to programs like Park University, Bethel University, and the Air Force Academy.
Other notable regional commitments included Rylee Little from Kanab High School signing with the University of Utah, and Caleb Patton from Pine View High School committing to Weber State University.
This period of collegiate commitments represents a steady stream of written commitments by athletes throughout Region 9 and other schools in Southern Utah. The number of student-athletes moving on to the next level continues to grow for schools like Crimson Cliffs, which has been open for seven years.
