The Utah Jazz aim to snap a four-game losing streak as they begin a lengthy road trip with a matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. This marks the second meeting between the two teams this season.
According to an injury report as of Nov. 2, the Jazz will be without several players. Jaren Jackson Jr. remains out while rehabilitating a torn MCL in his right knee. Jusuf Nurkic is also listed as out due to a second plantar plate tear in his right foot, an injury sustained during the preseason in September. Other players listed as out for Utah include Trey Alexander and Harrison Ingram, both of whom are G League Two-Way players.
Kobe Bufkin is currently listed as questionable for the matchup, though he does not have a specific injury designation. The Jazz may consider a two-way elevation for Bufkin to add depth to a backcourt that includes Keyonte George, Darryn Peterson, and Isaiah Collier.
The Jazz's frontcourt will look different for the upcoming game. Jaxson Hayes is expected to play the starting center role, while Josh Green is expected to continue playing on the wing to provide perimeter defense and three-point shooting. The team's starting five will be missing two key frontcourt pieces due to the aforementioned injuries.
The San Antonio Spurs will also be missing key contributors. Tobias Harris is out due to a calf injury, which shifts offensive responsibilities toward the team's core of Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper, and De'Aaron Fox. Additionally, first-round pick Jayden Quaintaince remains out while recovering from knee surgery sustained at the start of the season.
The matchup between the Jazz and the Spurs is scheduled to tip-off at 6:30 MT at the Frost Bank Center.
