An emergency water shutdown was issued for Liberty Ave. between 1225 N. and 1300 N. because a pipeline required immediate repair, according to a notice posted to the city's website. The shutdown affected hydrants in the area and was estimated to be completed by 4:00 PM on Sept. 15, 2026.
The shutdown could result in discolored water for residents. In such instances, officials recommended running the cold water faucet in a bathtub until the water clears to help flush home water lines. Residents were advised not to use hot water or wash light-colored laundry until the water runs clear.
Once repairs are complete, water crews will flush lines in the area. The city requested that residents notify them if discolored water persists.
Questions regarding the repair can be directed to 801-629-8321 during business hours.
