A high school-aged hiker was critically injured Friday after falling between 10 to 20 feet in Big Cottonwood Canyon, according to Salt Lake County Sheriff's Search and Rescue.
The fall took place while the individual was navigating steep, rocky terrain located above Donut Falls.
The injured teen was part of a group consisting of nine hikers in the area at the time of the incident.
Following the fall, the teen was airlifted from the canyon.
