Kaysville Mayor Tami Tran shared a message for March, recognizing the importance of Women's History Month and celebrating the contributions of women to the community. The Mayor noted that March serves as a time of renewal and growth, coinciding with International Women’s Day on March 8 and the transition to Daylight Saving Time.
Honoring Women's Contributions
In her address, Mayor Tran highlighted the presence of women in leadership roles across Utah, noting that more than 30 female mayors are currently leading communities in the state. She specifically honored Kaysville pioneers such as Mary Ann Haws Adams and Susan Stone Allred, as well as modern figures like Jan Williams, the founder of Hope Box Theatre.
Preparing for 2026 Celebrations
Looking ahead to 2026, the city is preparing for America's 250th Birthday. The July 4th parade is currently seeking participants, including bands, performers, and historical reenactors. Interested individuals can contact Parade Director Heidi Christensen at kaysvilleparadedirector@gmail.com.
Seasonal Resident Reminders
The city provided several seasonal reminders for residents:
Spring Cleanup: Scheduled to begin Monday, April 13. Items must be placed on the curb by 6:00 AM and must be hand-loadable.
Waste Management: Residents are reminded to secure garbage cans during windy weather. Additionally, March 31 is the final day green waste containers can be used for regular household trash.
Water Usage: The Davis and Weber Counties Canal Company has launched the MyWater portal (mywaterutah.org) to help secondary water users track usage as state law moves toward meter-based billing.
Community Services: Free tax preparation assistance is available through the VITA program at Davis Technical College until April 15, 2026.
Additional Community Updates
Other community updates include a recognition of Haken Anderson for his 14,000-mile solo bicycle journey and an invitation for volunteers to assist with projects at the Kaysville Cemetery. The Mayor concluded by thanking residents for making Kaysville a place defined by service and connection.
