The City of Orem is accepting bids for the construction of the Phase V Street Lighting Project. Separate sealed bids or electronic submittals via Bonfire will be received by Taggert Bowen, City Engineer, until 2:00 p.m. on June 2, 2026.
Following the deadline, bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Engineering Division office located at 56 North State, Orem, UT 84057.
The scope of work for the project involves removing 123 existing street lights and connecting to 91 power poles with risers, as well as connecting to 16 existing transformers or junction boxes. The project also includes the installation of 142 new City light poles and fixtures, along with 127 new junction boxes.
Additionally, the work will require boring approximately 20,030 feet of 1-inch conduit. The engineer's estimate for this work is valued between $1,450,000.00 and $1,600,000.00.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for May 19, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Community Development Ponderosa Conference Room at the City Center, located at 56 North State Street, Orem, UT 84057.
Interested parties may obtain contract documents through Bonfire or at the City of Orem Engineering Division. While there is no fee to obtain documents via Bonfire, a non-refundable $20.00 fee applies for copies of plans and specifications, with an additional $5.00 service charge if they are mailed.
The preferred method for submitting bids is through Bonfire at utah.bonfirehub.com. Bidders should use the Bonfire platform to submit questions and download technical documents, specifications, and bid items.
