Davis High advanced to the 6A state tournament quarterfinals after defeating Farmington 37-18 on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, in Kaysville. Bode Sparrow scored four touchdowns to lead the Darts to the victory during the first-round playoff game.
Sparrow, who is a record-setting receiver for Davis, transitioned to a running role during the game. He rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns while lining up in the wildcat formation nine times. One of those touchdowns was a 99-yard run following a kickoff return that pivoted at the 1-yard line. Sparrow's other rushing scores were an 18-yard run and a 4-yard run. He also caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Paden Toula in the third period, marking his 60th career touchdown catch.
Davis quarterback Paden Toula contributed a 14-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter to help build a 18-0 lead. The Darts utilized a ground-heavy approach due to rainy conditions and a wet ball. Other contributors for Davis included Kysen Gallegos, who rushed for 37 yards on seven carries, and Briggs Taylor, who had five carries for 23 yards. Davis entered the game with an 8-3 record, while Farmington entered with a 4-7 record.
The victory comes after a previous 14-3 win for Davis against Farmington during Region 1 play. Davis players noted that the ability to adapt to the rainy weather conditions helped their performance during the postseason matchup.
Davis and Paden Toula are scheduled to play No. 4 Herriman (9-2) in the quarterfinals next Friday.
