Terrance DH, also known by monikers such as Danger Hailstorm, Magstatic, and The Stench, has been a fixture in the SLC music scene for many years. His recent work maintains a signature sound characterized by a blend of power chords and pop enthusiasm, featuring rhythm sections with prog-metal sincerity.
Evolution of Musical Projects
The artist's discography includes several notable projects dating back to the late 1980s. Under the name The Stench, he released 'Zigamewaw' in 1986 and 'Crazy Moon' in 1987. Working as the Bad Yodelers, he released 'I Wonder...' in 1987 and 'Window' in 1988 and 1991, according to records from Discogs.
Magstatic and Sub Pop
Following the conclusion of The Stench and Bad Yodelers, DH founded the band Magstatic. The group achieved recognition with releases on prominent labels, including a 7-inch on Sub Pop in 1997 and a track on Deep Elm’s Emo Diaries #2 compilation in 1998. His work with Magstatic transitioned from a hard-edged sound into a power pop context with releases such as 'Cruiseliner' in 1999.

In addition to his work as a performer, DH has been active in Utah's recording community for over 23 years. He has recorded at historical local facilities including Sam Foster's, L.A. DH's more recent output under the name Danger Hailstorm includes a steady stream of releases between 2008 and 2018. He remains active in the local arts community through his involvement with the Utah Arts Alliance and Midnight Records.
