Washington Elementary has announced an upcoming Family Literacy Night for students and parents, according to a November 5 statement. The event will include learning stations and a pizza social in the school gym.
During the Family Literacy Night, students are encouraged to wear pajamas to the gym to participate in activities with the administration team, including Mr. Baker and Mr. Urry. Parents will be able to rotate through three distinct learning stations.
Teachers will lead a grade level station in classrooms to demonstrate how to assist children with reading at home. A Literacy Team station in the library will provide additional methods for supporting reading success, while school counselors will host a Tech Strategies station in the computer lab to discuss internet and technology safety and best practices.
Dixie Direct Books are also now available for purchase in the Washington Elementary school office. The school is encouraging families and friends to purchase through the school to support the institution. Books can be purchased online for pickup at the school via the Dixie Direct Books website.
