Jeremy Bloom, CEO of X Games, stated that the investment in these two specific clubs validates the organization's vision for the future of action sports. Bloom noted that the transition to the XGL format is intended to create deeper connections with fans and stronger opportunities for athletes by moving beyond traditional prize purses into a system of athlete contracts and team ownership.
Investor Enthusiasm for New Markets
Allen Thorpe, the investor behind Pipedream Capital, expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to build championship organizations in both the Los Angeles and Park City markets. Thorpe, a native Californian and a resident of Park City for 20 years, described the MoonPay X Games League as an entirely new category of sports ownership.

As part of the transaction, Moelis & Co LLC served as the exclusive financial advisor to X Games. The organization expects to announce additional club ownership deals in the coming months as momentum builds for the league's inaugural seasons.
Park City Winter Season Plans
The XC Park City Winter Club is positioned to serve as a cornerstone of the XGL Winter Season, which is scheduled to begin in 2027. The club will leverage Park City's status as a globally recognized destination for skiing and snowboarding and its future role as a host region for the 2034 Winter Olympics.
While details regarding the full roster for the Park City winter squad are still being finalized, X Games previously noted that fans should look toward a winter draft scheduled for September 16 to see the roster take shape. The club's digital presence and upcoming merchandise are also part of the long-term development plan for the Park City franchise.
The sale also included XC Los Angeles, a flagship Summer Club for the league. The Los Angeles roster is led by General Manager Sharalee “Haze” Hazen and features a 10-person international lineup, including Olympic medalist Tom Schaar and 11-year-old Australian athlete Mia Kretzer.
Los Angeles serves as a critical market for the XGL due to its influence in action sports and its upcoming role as the host of the 2028 Summer Olympics. The summer season for the league is already underway, having kicked off on June 26 in Sacramento before traveling to Chiba, Japan, and concluding with a championship event in New Orleans in July.
