The Arts Council of Park City & Summit County announced that the Latino Arts Festival will take place June 12–14, 2026, at Canyons Village, featuring more than 40 visual artists and performers from across the Americas.
Event Schedule and Performances
The multi-day event will include live music, dance, food, and culinary experiences. The festival schedule features a variety of international performances, including the Cadenza String Quartet from Bolivia and Ballet Folklorico Quetzalcoal from Mexico on Friday, as well as a World Cup game watch party for Brazil vs. Morocco on Saturday.
Collaborative Talavera Tile Installation
A central feature of the 2026 festival is a large-scale Talavera tile installation led by Miriam Gutierrez, the Latino Arts Youth Program Coordinator. Students from Ecker Hill Middle School, Weilenmann School of Discovery, Park City Library, Holy Cross Ministries, Park City Day School, and Park City High School are participating in the project.
Student Participation in Ceramic Project
The community project involves students creating hand-painted, Talavera-inspired ceramic tiles. According to the Arts Council, one tile from each student will be kept by the participant, while the other will be assembled into a collective public installation unveiled during the festival. The project is inspired by Gutierrez's travels in Puebla, Mexico.
Workshops and Pre-Festival Film Screening
Attendees can participate in a free, hands-on workshop led by Gutierrez to learn about the history and design elements of Mexican ceramic traditions. Additionally, the festival will host a pre-fest film screening on June 11 of 'American Pachuco: The Legend of Luis Valdez,' a documentary that won a 2026 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award.
