The Laketown Town Council scheduled public hearings for Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, to address proposed changes to local lot regulations and a right-of-way vacancy, according to a September 24 notice.
The hearings are scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM at the Laketown Office, located at 10 North 200 East, Laketown, Utah.
The first item on the agenda involves Ordinance 2026-08, which concerns corner lot sizes and setbacks. The proposed ordinance seeks to increase the minimum corner lot size to 0.67 acres and clarify that setbacks on all street sides must be 30 feet for corner lots within Laketown City Limits.
The second item involves a proposal to vacate a portion of the town right-of-way on the west side of North Main Street. This strip of land begins at the stop sign at the northwest corner of North Main Street and East Center Street and extends approximately 470 feet north and is approximately 22 feet wide. The Council may take action to adopt an ordinance to vacate this portion of the right-of-way.
The notice was posted on September 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM on the Utah Public Notice website and the Laketown website. Physical copies were also placed in conspicuous view inside and outside the Laketown Town Office, inside the Laketown post office, and at Dee's Service Station.
The public is invited to attend and provide oral or written comments during the hearings. All items will be discussed and or approved during the Laketown Town Council meeting following the public hearings. Individuals requiring special accommodations should notify the Laketown Town Office at (435) 946-9000 on Monday or Wednesday at least three working days prior to the hearing.
