Draper residents will see a change in their waste management services as Ace Disposal prepares to provide garbage and recycling services citywide starting August 17, 2026. The transition comes alongside several updates regarding local recycling capabilities and disposal programs.
The City continues to collect recycling on a bi-weekly basis, with collection days determined by neighborhood boundaries. Residents can determine their specific schedule using the city's Interactive Map or by reviewing the 2026 Garbage and Recycle Pick-up Calendar.
Regarding glass recycling, Draper City is partnered with Momentum Recycling for optional curbsid service. Since September 15, 2025, the city no longer manages billing for this service, requiring subscribers to create accounts directly with Momentum Recycling. Alternatively, residents may use 24/7 drop-off locations at Draper City Hall or IKEA.
For bulk cardboard recycling, a large white dumpster is available at the Draper City Public Works Facility. Residents must ensure boxes are broken down flat and free of fillers like bubble wrap or foam peanuts.
Other notable changes to local waste programs include the permanent closure of the Trans-Jordan Greenwaste Program due to an emergency fire. While the program for disposal and product sales is closed, green waste will still be accepted as trash at a rate of $39.00 per ton.
Additionally, the Trans-Jordan Landfill's e-waste recycling program has been suspended, though the landfill will accept e-waste as regular waste according to their specific fee structure.
For household hazardous waste, Salt Lake County provides a free drive-up collection center in Sandy. Residents may also utilize safe disposal sites at the Salt Lake Valley or Trans-Jordan Landfills. If a scheduled pick-up is missed, residents can contact city services at (801) 576-6302, while those on private roads should contact Ace Disposal at (801) 363-9995.
