Statewide recognition honors library services that go above and beyond state standards.
The Eagle Mountain Public Library has won the 2026 Quality Library Award from the Utah State Library Division, an honor given to libraries whose work exceeds the state's standards for public library service.
“Receiving the Utah Quality Library Award is something I have hoped for our library for many years, and I'm thrilled to share this recognition with our community,” Library Director Michele Graves said. “This award highlights the hard work our staff puts in day in and day out, not only providing the library services our community relies on, but also going above and beyond to meet the needs of our neighbors.”
Utah has approximately 125 public libraries, including county-wide systems. In 2025, only 16 libraries received the award.
About the Quality Library Award
Each year, Utah public libraries submit reports and data to the State Library to show their services meet state standards.
The Quality Library Award is a secondary application that gives library directors the chance to show where their staff have gone further. It also allows the State Library to highlight transformational services that might not be obvious in the standard recertification process.
To qualify, a library must meet at least six of ten quality criteria for the work it completed over the previous 12 months.
A Community Effort
Excellent library service takes strong leadership, dedicated staff, training, careful planning, support from city government, and a community that uses and values its library. This award reflects all of those things.
“Our library is always looking for ways to serve, from our Library Food Pantry and 3rd Annual Toy Closet, which helps local families provide holiday gifts for their children, to outreach services for seniors, including computer training in partnership with the Valley Crossroads Chamber of Commerce,” Graves added. “We may not be the largest library in size or space, but we have a big heart for our community. We are proud to be part of this community and grateful for the opportunity to serve our neighbors.”
“The Eagle Mountain Public Library is a place where our residents learn, connect, and grow, and this recognition shows the care our library team puts into that year-round,” Mayor Jared Gray said. “On behalf of the City, I congratulate Michele and the entire staff on this achievement.”
