According to a permit approved by the Utah Department of Water Rights, the Forest Service Logan Ranger District will install a new in-stream structure at Trail Hollow. The project, identified under permit 17-25-0003, focuses on a specific stream reach where approximately 20 feet of the area below the ordinary high water level will be impacted by fill. The initiative is being carried out on Forest Service land to enhance the natural landscape.

The facility includes a specialized holding area known as the Beaver Bunkhouse, where trapped beavers are housed for a minimum of three days to undergo quarantine, which helps reduce the transmission of parasites and diseases to new relocation sites.

The ecological necessity for these projects stems from the historical removal of North American beavers from the landscape during the 19th-century fur-bearer trapping period. This removal has left many Western streams vulnerable to degradation. These features benefit a wide range of wildlife, including cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, and various waterfowl.
