Utah Royals FC announced on September 16, 2026, that forward Cloé Lacasse has extended her contract through the 2028 NWSL season.
The announcement comes as the club experiences its most successful start to a NWSL campaign to date.
Lacasse joined the Royals in August 2024 from Arsenal W.F.C. Prior to playing in Utah, she played for IBV in Iceland and Benfica in Portugal after graduating from the University of Iowa.
During her three seasons with the club, the Canadian international has become Utah's all-time leader in goal contributions with 23 total. She also holds the club record for career assists with 11, surpassing Gunny Jónsdóttir and Veronica Boquete. On August 29, 2026, Lacasse tied the NWSL single-season assist record with 10, matching the marks set by Tobin Heath in 2016 and Croix Bethune in 2024.
In the 2026 season, Lacasse has recorded seven goals and 10 assists through 24 starts. She was a part of the Royals' 10-game unbeaten streak at the start of the 2026 season and contributed to the team's record-breaking 13 wins and 41 goals scored following a win over Bay FC on August 14.
The Utah Royals are scheduled to host Angel City FC at America First Field on Sunday, September 20, for Pups at the Pitch Night. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. MT.
