Wasatch County is inviting residents to participate in upcoming open house sessions designed to gather community input for the ongoing General Plan update. The feedback provided during these sessions will directly influence the next phase of the project.
The General Plan serves as a proactive framework for the county, guiding land use, development, transportation, public services, and economic development in unincorporated areas. As Wasatch County experiences significant growth, officials intend for this update to ensure future development aligns with community values.
Wasatch County Planner Austin Corry stated that meaningful progress has been made through initial community surveys and advisory committee meetings. Corry noted that the county is now seeking help to identify specific needs and desires within unincorporated areas, adding that the General Plan should reflect a shared community vision.
Scheduled open house sessions include:
Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Wallsburg Town Hall.
Tuesday, Sept. 2, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Jordanelle State Park – Hailstone Event Center.
Thursday, Sept. 4, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Midway Community Center.
An online survey will also be made available at wasatchcounty.gov/general-plan starting Wednesday, Aug. 27.
The General Plan update process began in the winter of 2024 and is projected to reach completion in the spring of 2026. The process will involve public feedback periods, advisory committee meetings, and public hearings before final adoption.
