Centennial Middle School released a notice regarding several upcoming school activities and district initiatives. The announcement includes details on parent-teacher conferences, district resource events, and student testing schedules.
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, in the school gyms. These open-house style meetings will run from 3:15 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. On the same evening, the school will host a semi-annual District Parent Resource Night from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. This event features representatives from the Utah Department of Health, UCASA, Intermountain Healthcare, and the Provo Police Department to provide information on topics such as mental health and substance abuse prevention.
The school is also managing several academic and safety programs. NWEA Reading assessments were scheduled for September 8–11. An after-school program is set to begin Monday, September 14, running Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additionally, a school safety drill involving lockdown protocols is scheduled for Monday, September 14.
Other upcoming activities include the PTA Reflections contest, with a deadline for entries on Tuesday, October 27. The school also noted that it does not accept commercial food deliveries for students during the school day to maintain campus security. For those interested in the Timpview Birds Basketball program, pre-tryout camps were scheduled for September 16 and 17, followed by tryouts on September 22 and 23 at the Timpview High School South Gym.
