Jennifer Hatfield has received the Provo Way Award following a nomination from colleagues at Wasatch Elementary. The award recognizes Hatfield for her work as an orchestra teacher.
Sixth-grade teachers Betsy Isom and Jim Scribner nominated Hatfield after noticing a significant improvement in the orchestra program. The teachers noted that the quality of the students' performances was high enough to be heard in adjacent classrooms.
According to the nomination, students in the orchestra program appeared happy, proud, and confident in their playing. Isom and Scribner stated that the students' ability to play well was notable early in the school year.
The Provo Way recognizes instruction that leads to visible student improvement and pride in performance.
