A house was considered a total loss and an outbuilding was destroyed during a wind-fueled brush fire in Farr West. The Weber Fire District received a call regarding the brush fire at approximately noon on a Friday.
According to the fire department, the wind blew the fire onto an outbuilding, which was fully engulfed by the time crews arrived. The outbuilding was destroyed in the blaze.
The wind then spread the fire to the attic of a nearby house. As of 3:30 p.m., officials stated the house was looking like a total loss.
Firefighting efforts were complicated by the wind, and it took crews two hours to bring the fire under control.
No residents were injured in the fire, though three firefighters suffered heat-related problems. No one required hospitalization.
