The Utah Mammoth reportedly made another significant offseason move by acquiring veteran center Vincent Trocheck from the New York Rangers. According to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the trade brings the experienced player to Utah in exchange for defenseman Sean Durzi, prospect Cole Beaudoin, and a 2027 third-round draft pick.
At the time of the report, neither team had officially announced the trade.
Trocheck, 32, provides Utah with an experienced two-way center following a season where he recorded 26 goals and 33 assists in 82 games for the Rangers. His professional career includes over 800 NHL games, with previous stints playing for the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers.
As part of the reported transaction, 26-year-old defenseman Sean Durzi moves to New York after one season in Utah. Durzi, who was limited by injury during the 2024-25 season but returned late in that campaign, had been a key component of the Utah blue line.
Also heading to the Rangers is Cole Beaudoin, who was selected by Utah as a first-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
The acquisition of Trocheck would add an established veteran to the Utah roster as the franchise works to reshape its lineup for the upcoming 2026-27 NHL season.
