Juvo Ventures, the venture capital arm of Western Governors University, has recruited Tara Rosander as managing director, according to a report published October 14, 2026.
Rosander joins the firm from the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development, where she served as deputy commissioner and chief operating officer starting in December.
Rosander previously chaired the investment committee of the Nucleus Fund from August 2025 until last month. The Nucleus Fund was established by the state to support deep tech spinouts from research institutions and universities in Utah.
With over 20 years of experience in investing, operating, venture building, and corporate development, Rosander will report to university president Scott Pulsipher. Pulsipher stated that Rosander's experience in tech innovation and venture capital is expected to help Juvo Ventures connect talent to opportunity and advance economic mobility.
Zane Busteed, who has served as the interim leader of Juvo Ventures since July, will return to his role as principal. The previous managing director, Sean Brown, transitioned to a role as managing director and general counsel at Valore Health last month.
Juvo Ventures began investing from its second fund after filing to raise $100 million in January 2025. The organization has not provided updates regarding the specific amount of capital raised or the identity of its limited partners.
Juvo Ventures operates as the venture capital arm for Western Governors University.
