Utah Valley men's and women's soccer teams both earned Big West victories on September 30, 2026. The men's team defeated UC Irvine 2-0 at UCCU Stadium, and the women's team secured a 3-1 road win at Anteater Stadium.
In the men's match, Oliver Watts scored his first collegiate goal in the 55th minute after receiving a pass from Luca Wingaa Laursen. Adem Arous doubled the lead in the 70th minute following a cross from Nil Grau. The win allows No. 24 Utah Valley to match a program record for the longest unbeaten streak to start a season at seven games. Goalkeeper Kolby Sessions recorded a shutout, moving into a tie for second all-time in program history with eight career shutouts.
The women's soccer victory was led by Sadie Beardall, who recorded two goals. Nixan Jackson opened the scoring for the Wolverines in the 32nd minute, followed by an equalizer from UC Irvine's Fiona Shin in the 50th minute. Beardall converted a penalty in the 55th minute and added a second goal in the 75th minute to secure the win. Head coach Chris Lemay noted that the team played well on their front foot and achieved a crucial road win.
The men's team remains one of only seven teams in the country without a defeat this campaign and is the only team in the country to end September unbeaten in each of the last two seasons. The women's team improved to a 6-4-2 overall record and remains unbeaten in Big West play at 2-0-1.
Utah Valley men's soccer will travel to Southern California to face UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m. MDT. The women's soccer team returns home to host Cal State Fullerton on Saturday night at 6 p.m. MT.
