The Skyridge High School football team is set to begin its 2026 season under the Friday night lights. The kickoff for the season will involve scrimmages and a fundraiser.
Looking back at previous seasons, the Skyridge football team has participated in several notable matchups. In a recent Region 3 showdown on senior night, the team secured a victory against the Lone Peak Knights in a two-overtime game. However, in a later semifinal clash, the team was unable to overcome the Lone Peak hurdle.
Other notable performances include a 26-14 road victory over American Fork on a rainy night to close out league play. In a playoff matchup, Skyridge earned a first-round bye. The team also faced challenges in other games, including a 49-14 loss to Corner Canyon and a road loss against Cherry Creek of Colorado.
Griffin Kunz, a 12th-grade inside linebacker, was recognized as an athlete of the month. During a state semifinal game against Lone Peak, Kunz recorded 14 combined tackles.
