The 13th annual Lehi Heritage Day drew hundreds of residents and out-of-town visitors to the Lehi Legacy Center and Civic Center on Aug. 29, according to a September 4 report. The celebration proceeded despite a morning rainstorm that forced 75 volunteers to move displays indoors into the Civic Center.
The free event, which took place from 2:30 to 6 p.m., included an old-time car show and recognition for honorees. The Lehi Historical Society organized a new Quest Passport game, a scavenger-hunt style program that sent participants to 26 historical markers around town. Participants could earn raffle tickets by taking photos at markers or visiting tables where representatives shared stories about local history.
Event chairman Nicole Kunze stated that the passport game helped bring new people to the Historical Society. Kunze noted that the society has made new friends this summer through the historical marker quest. The event was sponsored by Lehi City, SIRQ Construction, and Strata Network.
The Lehi Historical Society Director, Lara Bangerter, credited Kunze with creating the marker quest concept. The afternoon concluded with a raffle featuring prizes such as a KitchenAid mixer and various gift cards.
This year was the first time the celebration was not held on Labor Day. The Lehi Historical Society has not announced a date for 2027. Residents seeking updates can contact the society at (801) 768-1570.
