Skyridge, Lone Peak, Highland, and Lehi are all favored to win their Friday matchups, according to Parry's Power Guide. The Deseret News weekly ratings system lists all four Tribune-area teams as favorites heading into Week 5, with every spread expected to be in double digits.
Skyridge, ranked No. 3 by KSL Sports, hosts Skyline for Homecoming. The Falcons carry a power rating of 125.2 compared to Skyline's 79.2. Skyridge is coming off a 24-20 road win over Liberty of Henderson, Nevada, a game reached after the team's bus broke down in the desert. Quarterback Jagger Fountaine threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns in that victory. Head coach Justin Hemm stated to the Lehi Free Press that he was proud of how the players continued to compete and finished the game on the road.
Lone Peak hosts Timpview, with the Knights holding a power rating of 127.9, the highest among the four local teams. Timpview is ranked No. 12 by KSL Sports and has a 2-2 record. The Knights' last game was a 38-14 loss to Bishop Gorman of Las Vegas on Sept. 4. Lone Peak will open region play on Sept. 18 at Corner Canyon.
Highland carries a three-game winning streak into a matchup against East. The Rams have a power rating of 66.7 against East's 53.4. Highland previously defeated Cottonwood 55-0 on Sept. 4. In that game, quarterback Will Bauman threw four touchdown passes, including two long strikes to Zamiri Vaughn.
Lehi travels to Weber, where the Pioneers are favored by 12.9. Weber holds a 3-1 record and is ranked No. 17 by KSL Sports. Lehi head coach Andy Hadfield told the Lehi Free Press that the trip serves as a warmup before league play begins, noting the need to contain Weber's quarterback.
All four games are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11.
