The expansive construction project will add 19,115 square feet to the current competition building. This new footprint will supplement a comprehensive overhaul of 7,670 square feet of existing space. According to a press release from Go Heber Valley, the renovation is intended to enhance Soldier Hollow's athlete development programs, specifically providing better service to national team athletes, masters athletes, and participants in Team SOHO's youth development programs.
New Facility Features
The redesigned facility will feature specialized amenities across three distinct levels. The ground floor is slated to house a new ski rental area, a gym training area, and a team clubhouse to accommodate local, national, and international athletes. The first floor will be dedicated to skier services, including a desk for tickets and lessons, a café, a retail area, and a lounge area. The top floor will provide multi-use event space intended for community gatherings, meetings, hospitality, and group events.
Olympic Legacy Goals
The investment is part of a broader effort to maintain Utah's standing in the international winter sports community. Colin Hilton, CEO of the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, stated that the renovation project represents a further investment in Utah's reputation as a destination for winter sport. Hilton noted that the goal is to continually improve existing venues with elements that address current day needs, which will also assist the region in hosting a future Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Soldier Hollow has a long history of hosting high-profile international events following the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
