The Church of Jesus and Christ of Latter-day Saints has opened applications for individuals and groups to volunteer for the Salt Lake Temple Celebration, a series of events running from April 5 through October 1, 2027.
Event Details and Rejoice Team
The upcoming celebration will showcase the renovated Salt Lake Temple and include exhibits, music, dance, and storytelling. According to templesquare.org, organizers are seeking volunteers for the Rejoice Team, a group of guests-focused individuals tasked with greeting visitors and creating an uplifting atmosphere throughout Temple Square.
Volunteer Roles and Requirements
Volunteer opportunities are available for people ages 16 and older. These roles include behind-the-scenes support, guiding visitors through the temple, and serving as educators at the Church History Museum. Most assignments require a commitment of one shift per week for eight to 14 weeks.
Performers and Artisans Needed
The celebration also features opportunities for musical and artistic talent. Unpaid performing groups, including school and cultural organizations, are invited to apply to present 30-minute performances between April and September 2027. Additionally, the Church is seeking volunteer artisans—such as painters, woodworkers, and chalk artists—to showcase their work live for guests.
Professional Paid Positions Available
Paid positions are also available for specific professional roles. The Church is seeking a troupe of professional individual performers, including singers, dancers, and instrumentalists ages 18 to 35, for a contract running from February through October 2027. Furthermore, the Church is hiring professional Temple Square Guides who must be returned missionaries from within the last three years.
