What an incredible start to the 2026–2027 school year! Over the past few days, our students and educators have been busy building relationships, creating classroom communities, establishing expectations, and engaging in meaningful learning.
Kicking Off the New School Year
Students received their CMS 2026–2027 school year T-shirts and Chromebooks during English Language Arts classes as we kicked off another great year at Centennial!
Mr. Russo's Math 7
Students participated in a Four Corners activity that got them moving while getting to know their classmates. They collaborated around their choices, discussed their reasoning, and shared insights with the class.
Mrs. Chandler's Utah Studies
Students created personalized water bottle stickers and designed their ideal study spaces as a way to share their interests and personalities. Students explained their design choices, giving Mrs. Chandler and their classmates a glimpse into what inspires and motivates them.
Mrs. Murray's Science 8
Students explored the important difference between observations and inferences by analyzing historical photographs. They worked collaboratively to share observations and then used evidence to develop thoughtful inferences about each image.
Ms. Cooper's Intro to Spanish
Students got to know one another through engaging questions and collaborative activities. They reflected on the connections they made, shared what they learned about their classmates, and created images representing what makes a classroom feel welcoming and inviting.
Ms. Robinson's English Language Arts 8
Students learned about schoolwide Chromebook expectations, helping establish routines for responsible technology use and setting them up for success this school year.
Ms. Borders's Math 8
Students participated in a puzzle-piece activity designed to help them get to know one another and build a strong sense of classroom community.
Mrs. Damavandi's Math 7
Students worked with partners to identify patterns by grouping numbers into quadrants, building mathematical thinking while practicing collaboration.
We love seeing our teachers intentionally create opportunities for students to connect, collaborate, think, and belong from the very beginning of the school year.
