Myron Lamont Accuttoroop, age 80, passed away on August 16, 2026, at the Beehive Home in Naples, Utah.
Born on March 8, 1946, in Fort Duchesne, Utah, Accuttoroop was a proud member of the Northern Ute Tribe.
Accuttoroop married Sylene Burgi on January 2, 1973, in the Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The couple shared 53 years of marriage.
Throughout his career, Accuttoroop was dedicated to serving the Ute Tribe and his community. His professional roles included serving on the Ute Tribe Business Committee, working with Tribal Resources, and managing Ute Enterprises. He also worked as a tutor for the Duchesne and Uintah County School Districts and as a bus driver.
Accuttoroop was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in the Northern Indian Mission and held several callings, including branch president of the Randlett Branch, a High Councilor for 10 years, bishop of the Uintah River Ward, and an ordinance worker in the Vernal Utah Temple.
He enjoyed basketball, jogging, hunting, and fishing. For his 40th birthday, he celebrated by running around Bottle Hollow Reservoir.
Accuttoroop is survived by his wife, Sylene; children Tyler Accuttoroop, Tridell; Angela Accuttoroop, Taunilee Accuttoroop; Misty Farnsworth; and Nicholas Accuttoroop; as well as 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Sophia Accuttoroop; a son, Brandon J. Accuttoroop; and several siblings.
Graveside services were scheduled for August 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hayden Cemetery. Viewings were held at Hullinger Mortuary on August 19 and August 20, 2026.
