The State Fire Marshal Office has provided details regarding the official sales and discharge windows for 2026. For the Independence Day period, which spans July 2 through July 5, fireworks are restricted per the executive order.
Permitted sales dates for the year include June 24 through July 25, December 29 through December 31, and the window surrounding Chinese New Year. Outside of specific holidays, consumer fireworks discharge is generally permitted between 11:00 AM and 11:00 PM.
Other scheduled windows include Chinese New Year from February 16 at 11:00 AM to February 17 at 1:00 AM, and New Year's Eve from December 31 at 11:00 AM to January 1 at 1:00 AM. The status for the July 22 through July 25 Pioneer Day window is yet to be announced.
The State Fire Marshal Office notes that updates are still being received from various cities, counties, and municipalities. Officials suggest checking local area websites directly for the most efficient way to find specific regional restrictions. Licensing requirements also remain in place for wholesalers, retailers, and operators, including specific age and examination standards for artisans.
