A flood watch was placed in effect for major portions of Southern Utah. According to the National Weather Service, the watch lasted through the night, with warnings for residents to prepare if they lived in areas prone to flooding.
Officials noted that flooding would likely have major impacts on recent burn scars and other locations.
In a separate development, Governor Spencer Cox pledged support for the city of Beaver following flash flooding that occurred over the weekend. During an event at the Days of 47 Rodeo, Governor Cox stated he had been in communication with the mayor and county commissioners regarding the rebuilding efforts.
Additionally, Southern Utah University announced the loss of a student and military member. President Mindy Benson stated that First Lt. Tyler James Feehan died while serving in Jordan over the weekend.
