The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City issued a zone forecast for multiple Utah regions, including several areas under flood watches. The forecast indicates a chance of rain showers and thunderstorms for various locations.
Several areas, including the Wasatch Plateau/Book Cliffs, Western Uinta Basin, Eastern Juab/Millard Counties, Sanpete Valley, Sevier Valley, Castle Country, Zion National Park, South Central Utah, and the Central Mountains, are under flood watches until midnight MDT tonight. In these areas, some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall during the evening hours.
In the Salt Lake Valley, including Salt Lake City, West Jordan, and Sandy, there is a 50 percent chance of precipitation tonight with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening and after midnight. In the Northern Wasatch Front, including Ogden and Bountiful, rain showers are likely with a 70 percent chance of precipitation and a chance of thunderstorms in the evening.
Other regions report varying weather conditions. The Tooele and Rush Valleys face a 30 percent chance of precipitation tonight, while the Cache Valley/Utah Portion has a 90 percent chance of precipitation with rain showers and a chance of thunderstorms. The Bear Lake and Bear River Valley reports a 60 percent chance of precipitation tonight.
