U.S. Ski & Snowboard has named 49 alpine athletes to the 2026-27 Stifel U.S. Ski Team, according to an October 7 statement. The roster includes 26 women and 23 men across the A, B, and C teams, all of whom qualified under published alpine team criteria.
Mikaela Shiffrin enters the upcoming season with a modified competitive focus. While returning as the reigning World Cup overall champion, she plans to race fewer slaloms to devote more attention to giant slalom and super-G. Her previous achievements in these disciplines include a 2019 and 2023 World Cup giant slalom title, a 2019 World Cup super-G title, and an 2018 Olympic giant slalom gold medal.
Lauren Macuga of Park City Ski & Snowboard returns to competition after missing the 2025-26 season due to an ACL tear sustained during training at Copper Mountain in November 2025. Macuga, who reached the World Cup downhill podium and won a World Championship super-G bronze in 2025, has completed recovery and the necessary surgeries to return to the snow.
The women's roster features Breezy Johnson, the reigning Olympic and world downhill champion, and Olympic medalists Jacqueline Wiles and Paula Moltzan. The women's A team also includes Mary Bocock, Keely Cashman, Katie Hensien, AJ Hurt, Allison Mollin, and Nina O’Brien. Lindsey Vonn remains on the A-team roster but will not race this season as she recovers from an Olympic downhill crash and subsequent surgeries; she stated any return to racing would occur no earlier than 2027-28.
On the men's side, two-time Olympic super-G silver medalist Ryan Cochran-Siegle anchors the A team alongside Bryce Bennett, Tommy Ford, Kyle Negomir, and River Radamus.
Sasha Rearick, Borgen Family Alpine Director, said the group is a determined and impressive group of athletes prepared to compete at the highest level during a World Championship season. The upcoming schedule includes the World Cup season opening in Sölden, Austria, on Oct. 24-25, followed by races in Levi, Finland, and Gurgl, Austria, in November.
The championship season will culminate at the 2027 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, scheduled for Feb. 1-14. The tour will conclude in the United States at the Stifel Sun Valley Finals from March 20-25.
