While the Color Personality Path concluded in mid-August, the library has maintained a schedule of kid-friendly events throughout the summer months. Upcoming Bug Hunt Event
Looking ahead to the end of August, the Provo Library is preparing for a Bug Hunt. According to a schedule released by the library, the Bug Hunt is slated to begin on Wednesday, Aug. 26. The program will be hosted at the Children's Desk and will involve participants finding jars of bugs hidden throughout the Children's Library.
Bug Hunt Rules and Schedule
During the Bug Hunt, participants will be tasked with counting the number of bugs located inside each jar. Once the hunt is complete, children can turn in their completed tracking sheets to the Children's Desk to earn a prize. The library has scheduled the hunt to remain active for several consecutive days, including Aug. 26, Aug. 27, Aug. 28, and Aug. 29.
End of Summer Celebrations
The Bug Hunt is part of a broader lineup of activities scheduled for the remainder of the month. In addition to the insect-themed hunt, the library has scheduled a summer farewell event titled Despedida al verano. This event is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 24, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the library's North Patio and will feature bubbles and giant games to celebrate the end of summer.
September Programming Outlook
The Provo Library has also outlined a diverse range of programming for the month of September. For example, the library will host Tween Thursdays for the 9-12 age group, featuring activities such as Slingshot Cars on Thursday, Sept. 3, and Decorate a Notebook on Thursday, Sept. 10. Other specialized programs include the Minecraft Club on Wednesday, Sept. 9, and a family movie night featuring Moana 2 on Friday, Sept. 18.
Library Event Schedule Overview
The library's upcoming schedule also includes the Word Worm series, which will take place on various days in September, including Aug. 31, Sept. 8, Sept. 9, Sept. 10, and Sept. 11. This program invites those who are 'logolepts' to test their vocabulary in the Children's Department for a chance to win a small prize. Other upcoming activities include the LEGO Crew for children ages 5-8 on Sept. 9 and the Kids' Comedy Show on Sept. 19.
